Many entrepreneurs, especially farmers, do not trust the adoption of artificial intelligence, according to Costin Lianu, coordinator of the European Digital Innovation Hub EDih Valahia in the Bucharest-Ilfov region. The main reservation, he explained, is that they do not know who accesses the data they share.

Lianu made the statements during the Profit.ro marathon "AI, Cloud & Resilience", whose exclusive partner is CloudXEdge. The interview was broadcast in video format, and Profit.ro also published its transcript.

According to him, the main concern relates to the inability to control or protect data in shared spaces. For many entrepreneurs, such concerns outweigh the potential benefits of the technology, which means that AI adoption is, in practice, one of the last priorities on their agenda.

Lianu stressed that, for an entrepreneur, adopting artificial intelligence is generally not the first concern, as other business issues take precedence. In a context where small and medium-sized enterprises are encouraged to digitalise their activities, this perception matters, since the way data is managed remains one of the decisive criteria when a company decides to invest in new technologies.

The EDih Valahia hub covers the Bucharest-Ilfov and South Muntenia regions. The role of such structures, which includes the activity coordinated by Lianu, is to support companies in the digitalisation process and help them understand the available technologies, including artificial intelligence.
